Upcoming Events - September 1st-16th 2023:

For the most up-to-date information on upcoming events, please visit our Thorndale ISD website. However, here are some highlights of important dates below:

2023-24 Pep Rally Themes!

Support TISD by participating in our Pep Rally themes each week.

Stay Connected through the TISD Website:

Have you connected with all of our Thorndale ISD social media pages? They are packed with content, updates, and important information. Here is a complete list! Feel free to follow them all, or just the ones you want. Thank you in advance for your support of TISD!

Student Academic Achievement Recognition:

Thorndale has many bright students! One great example is Hannah Alexander who achieved a VERY impressive honor of receiving a National Rural & Small Town Award from the College Board.

Thank you Hannah for being a perfect example of TISD’s District Goal 2: “TISD will promote advanced (exemplary) student performance”.

Her commitment to her Grade Point Average (GPA) AND her outstanding performance on exams was recognized on a big scale. Please help me congratulate Hannah.

PSAT Information:

Thorndale ISD does many things to help our students reach their full potential.

One of those things, in line with Goal 1: “Thorndale ISD will provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum to ensure that all students are prepared for academic success and for college, career, and military opportunities”, is providing all of our 10th grade students with a free opportunity to take the PSAT.

All of our 10th grade students will take the PSAT-NMSQT test on October 10-12. (Specific date TBD) Once again, the school pays for all 10th grade students to take the test. 11th Grade will take the SAT in the spring.

If your student is an 11th grader, but would like to also take PSAT for an opportunity to be recognized as a National Merit Scholar, he/she may take the PSAT-NMSQT as well. Students in 11th who wish to test will be required to register and pay $18 to test.

9th Grade students who completed and passed algebra 1 in 8th grade are eligible to take the PSAT-NMSQT test for extra practice. Again, students will need to pay $18 to test. Reminder: 9th grade students who test will take it again in 10th grade.

All eligible 9th and 11th grade students choosing to test will need to bring payments to Andie Warner in the high school front office no later than Friday, September 1st. There will be no late registrations after this date. Payments must be either cash or check.

If you have questions or concerns, please email andie.warner@thorndale.txed.net or melanie.morrison@thorndale.txed.net

(Reminder) Thorndale ISD Community Involvement Program:

Thorndale ISD’s Community Involvement Program is a great way to learn more about our schools, programs, and district. This group will later contribute to long term planning for district needs and aligns to Goal 5: TISD will include the community and parents as full partners in district planning and goal setting.

As a reminder, today is the deadline to join our TISD Community Involvement Program!

District Academic Advisory Committee (DAAC):

Our Community Involvement Program isn’t our only way to get involved related to Goal 5.

Want to get involved, but can’t make meetings during the day? I might have the perfect spot for you. We are looking for interested parents, community members, or business representatives to serve on our DAAC committee alongside our teachers and staff.

The purpose of this committee is to review District & Campus annual plans, accountability & Title 1 campus status, discuss distract academic calendars, and much more!

This committee will meet approximately 4 times per year in the early evenings. Meeting dates are TBA, but if you are interested, please email me at Zack.Kleypas@Thorndale.txed.net by Friday, September 8th, 2023.

Note: Whether you are an expert on public education or don’t know a thing… This committee is open to anyone interested!

Student Code of Conduct & Handbooks:

The TISD Goal 4: states “Thorndale ISD will promote a safe and orderly school climate that is conducive to student success and learning”. One of the many components to achieving that goal is having clear and consistent implementation of the rules. Here are two important documents within Thorndale ISD:
